[ Video ]

[ When Ash turns on his video in the morning to show him and his buddy Pikachu perched on his shoulder he looks... tired. It takes a sound from Pikachu in order to even realize that his journal was already on and that he had been staring blankly into the screen. With the small realization he pulls together a smile and gets down to talking. ]

Uh... Hi. I'm Ash and this is my buddy Pikachu.

[ He's calm. Perhaps a bit too calm to people who knows him when he speaks. If it isn't noticeable right then and there it will be when he started talking again because while there is some enthusiasm it's nothing like what it normally is. ]

So Friendship and Rival Day is comin' up on June 28th and I wanted t' have a party to celebrate. Some people gave me ideas like battles, movies, video games, and other kind o' things that people can do with old friends and new friends. There's gonna be a lot of food there too.

But thing is my friends Cilan and Chili can't make all the food on their own. I was wonderin' if people could make or bring food and drinks to Friendship and Rival Day. Maybe some other things like more video games or other kinds o' games t' play. Or anythin' else we might need for it.

Also, I'm wonderin' where would be th' best place for it. Someone said th' Battledome would be a good place. Is that okay or does anyone have a better place in mind. If there isn't and the Battledome isn't ok I think it could happen at th' house I'm stayin' at.

If y' have any questions or somethin' I wanna hear 'em. I'll also be 'round Luceti checkin' some things out so y' can always come talk t' me too.

[ He pushes a bigger smile and a little more enthusiasm into this last bit. ]

[ Action ]

[ Although Ash should probably still be resting he can be found in several places around Luceti with, of course, Pikachu. Most notably he'll be checking things out at the Battledome and also going to several of the places to eat such as Seventh Heaven and the Bakery. He can also be found at the fountain resting or maybe trying to figure out what to do next and can't forget any stores that would have things for parties.

And lastly he can also be found back at House 11. Either in the Kitchen eating food, in his room doing well.. whatever probably letting his true feelings out, or just lying around the house because he knows that, as much as he would like to get back to training, doing so would probably result in certain people coming out and telling him to stop because Ash no your body and mind are not ready for this yet you shouldn't even really be out wandering Luceti all day. ]

I don't think we have anyone makin' any pasta. And we could always use some more desserts too.

[ No they probably don't but desserts there can never be enough of them. ]

Great..! I look forward t' seeing 'im there. And you too.

[A thoughtful pause before he continues, his tone a little more serious but still gentle.]

...how have you been?

[ And all his attempts to keep a small smile completely vanishes when Jeb asks the question. Being brutally honest with your feelings can have it's downfalls. ]

... 've been havin' trouble sleeping th' past few days. My injuries still hurt sometimes too.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you upset. I... I've just been worried about everyone.

[A tense pause, before he continues speaking.]

I've been having trouble sleeping, too. I'm sorry that it's the same for you, Ash. [Another pause, as if he's hesitant to say anything else.] If you want, I could use my healing magic on your injuries. I don't think I'd be able to heal them completely, but some relief might help.

No, it's okay! I'm worried 'bout people too but.. but as long as they're with me and my Pokemon are with me and okay I think I'll be okay.

[ And it's something that is firmly wants to and will continue to believe. But nightmares and other such things have just been making it more difficult than usual to bounce back. ]

... Y' can do that? I know I should be seein' the doctors but 've been restin' at home instead. [ He doesn't mean to not say anything to the first part it's just that he doesn't know what. How or Where dos he even begin? ]

I want to believe it's the same for me. It's hard to believe, when there's not much I can do for anyone...

[He didn't mean to say that second part. He clears his throat.]

Yes, I can do that. A-And I should do that, if you haven't been going to the doctors! [Normally he wouldn't be pushy, but Ash admitting that is a cause for concern!]

Whadya talkin' 'bout? You've already done a lot for me and I bet that you do a lot for others too. Even if it's just bein' there with them! ... Sometimes I think there isn't much I can do, but then I remember that I can do anythin' I put my mind to as long as I have my friends with me.

[ Too bad Jeb you just got a small Ash friendship rant. ]

It... wasn't really th' first thing I had on my mind. [ It's really just been 'are my pokemon ok is Cilan ok oh i'm not that okay but they're more important let's focus on them'. Though you can totally see Pikachu nodding his head in agreement to Jeb. ]

I... [He smiles, letting out a content sound that could almost pass as a laugh.] Thank you, Ash. I'm glad you think so. And... I think you can do anything you put your mind to, as well.

[Sometimes Jeb needs a rant or two, it's okay.]

...well, I can understand why it wouldn't be. [He notices Pikachu and nods back at him.] But that really does mean I should help you!

Yea, I know. And if I forget then I have Pikachu and my other friends t' remind me.

[ Good good. ]

I-If y' really want to I'm not gonna stop you.

I'll remind you, too.

[Because it's good to get reminders about that.]

Okay. Should I come to you, or should we meet up somewhere?

Okay. And I'll remind you.

[ Reminders all around~ ]

Let's meet up somewhere. [ He doesn't want you to have to come all the way to House 11 for his sake ] What's a good place for you?

[He pauses to think.]

How about the tea shop?

Yeah, I know where that is. Let's meet there.

[ ...... he thinks so at least. He'll figure it out. ]

Okay. See you there, Ash!

[When Ash gets there, Jeb will be there waiting for him. He's nursing a nice cup of tea, a sketchbook next to him on the table. It's open, so if Ash might catch glimpse of some unfinished doodles if he's lucky.]

[ Ash makes his way over, thankfully not getting lost on the way there. When he arrives he'll call out to Jeb but also notice the sketchbook as well. ]

We're here-- Hey, is that yours?

[ Trying to catch a glimpse now! ]

Hi, Ash--I, well... yes, it is.

[He doesn't seem to mind Ash getting a glimpse, even pushing the sketchbook closer to him so he can. It's mostly small, half-finished sketches of items and people. With the people portion, two tend to show up the most: a girl with long hair and a braid in the front and another girl with a hat designed to have cat-like ears at the top.]

[ Although they're just half-finished sketches he smiles ]

You're really good. You seem t' draw a lot of some people. Are they friends of yours?

Thank you! I really do try my best. [Jeb can't help but smile back, though it softens when Ash questions if those he draws a lot of are friends of his.] Mmhmm! Yes, they're friends of mine. Really close friends, actually.

Really? [ He would say that he would love to meet them but... ] They look like they're really great people.

[ Yeah let's go with that instead. ]

[A light nod.]

They are. They really are. Both Tori and Michiru are amazing people. I...

[He tries to brighten up and not think about any of that too much.]

Anyway, let's take a look at those injuries!

[ Ash gives a light nod. Guess it is time to have his injuries looked at. As Pikachu moves off Ash's shoulder to give both of them space Ash unwraps the bandages on his arm. And underneath? An injury that is the result of a gash that was healed a little, then ripped open when chili tore off blood covered bandages, then cauterized then healed again sometime after that??

Regardless it doesn't look good and might be a miracle it isn't infected yet. Oops. ]

Oh my go-- [Jeb sighs in distress, looking to Ash.] This looks really bad. I don't mean to be harsh, but you really should have had this looked at by now!

[He shakes his head then, putting his hands over the wound.]

Don't worry, I can help. It'll be okay...

[ O...oh... that wasn't a good reaction. Ash looks clearly guilty when Jeb scolds him for this but nods his head. ]

Y-Yeah... I'll try n' remember next time.

[ Though let's hope there isn't a next time.... ]

But... okay. Thank you.

As long as you try to remember, that's enough.

[He smiles before closing his eyes, concentrating on healing Ash's wound.]
