[ There's an Ash on the journal with Pikachu on his shoulder. He doesn't have his hat on but that's because it's on the table he's at with ... a bunch of slips of paper in it??? ]

Hey Luceti! I was wonderin' something! Y'know that one day that was for couples a while back? I was wonderin' if there were other days here for other kinds o' friendship. Y'know like maybe a best friend day or even a day for rivals! If there isn't we should come up with days for 'em. I even have a bunch of paper with days on 'em so it can be completely random!

[ Don't ask where he got all the paper or the time to do all that. He probably asked his Pokemon to help or something. But if you want to blame someone for the suggestion blame one Rock Lee. ]

Whaddya say? I don't think couples should be the only kind of friendship who get to have a special day like that!

[Oh no is this our awkward attempt at trying to explain what couples were to you coming back to bite us... ~~not to even mention that trainwreck of a conversation you're having with his brother, which Chili better pray that Cilan doesn't notice or find out about yet...~~]

Hm...well, I suppose there could be a day to celebrate the bonds you have with your friends--after all, friendships have a truly wonderful taste to them, so devoting a day to your friends and how much you appreciate them sounds like a very sweet thing to do. [Though arguably Christmas could be for that already...] What would you propose to do for a day regarding rivalries, though?

[ SORRY CILAN this is totally that attempt coming back to bite you. But hey something good may come out of it?? ]

I'm glad y' agree Cilan! Friendships are the most important thing t' have so it deserves a celebration sometimes! [ He does consider Cilan's question for a moment ] Well it could be a specific day when y' can challenge your rival. I mean y' can do it whenever but this way you know when you're gonna challenge it and prepare for it! It can also be a day to make new rivals!

Ah, I see! That does sound like it would be a very exciting day to look forward to! [Hmm~] The anticipation of displaying your Pokemon's new strength on the battlefield for your rival to see, and witnessing the bold strategies your rival has come up with in the midst of their own training leading up to that day...yes, I can certainly see why such a day would have an appealing taste for you!

And people are comin' up with ideas t' use too! I just haveta get a day for it! [ SO EXCITE ] Of course! It'll be a good day t' finally get some more battles 'round here! And even if someone doesn't battle they can compete with a rival some other way! [ LIKE AN EATING CONTEST ]

And Cilan! Since none of my other rivals are here then you'll be my rival for it!

Huh, me? You want us to be your rival?

[He's actually a little surprised by the offer for a second, seeing that they are friends and all. (...Although, now that he's thinking about it, it has been a long time since he's actually had a battle with Ash as his opponent--almost two years from Cilan's perspective since that battle at the gym, not counting the times they were training or participated in double battles together...)]

Yea! None of my rivals are here so you're the closest thing I've got!

[ Unless you want him to ask Chili do you really want him to ask Chili. ]

I see...in that case, I would be happy to accept your challenge--after all, it has been quite a while since I last got to taste you and your Pokemon on the battlefield. I'm curious to see if this flavor has changed, especially now that you have Charizard with you. [It'll definitely be different from that gym battle they had, when it was Oshawott vs. Pansage...]

Great! I can't wait! I just need t' get a date for Rival Day and then we can start trainin' for it!

D' you think I should pick out the date for it now?

[After all, Cilan is very accommodating when it comes to his young friend, so he'll fit whatever day Ash picks into his schedule somehow.]

In that case, I suppose that means we'll be leaving it up to chance for whichever day you manage to draw for it.

Okay! Let's see... [ DRAWING ONE ] June 28th!

June 28th? [So that's the date that got pulled huh? He doesn't see an issue with it, provided Luceti doesn't decide to do something wacky around then.]

Hm...well, that certainly would give the two of us plenty of time to train with our Pokemon in preparation...oh, not that I think we need that much time to be prepared. After all, my Pokemon and I are quite capable of proving ourselves to be a challenge on the battlefield already, so it'll be interesting to see if the same can be said for you and your Pokemon here...yes, I think I'll be looking forward to this taste~! [...Cilan are you getting into the spirit of this and actually slipping into a little bit of rival smack-talking already.]

Yeah! Well, even if we don't need that much time to get prepared other people might! And we havta get together all th' things to do for Friendship and Rival day! [ Since it seems like a good idea to just merge the two ideas into one big festival ] You can bet that my Pokemon are gonna prove ourselves on the battle field, y' just watch!

[ At least this can of worms isn't romance related?? ]

[Thank goodness, because we don't know if we're up for another rousing discussion on explaining romance again just yet...]

Oh, I can't wait! [He's especially curious to get a chance to see that Charizard of his in battle, as well as battling Pikachu and Snivy...] What other ideas did you have in mind? If there's anything else that I can help with, please tell me!

Well, we're gonna need food for the festival. Lots and lots of food!

Well, that can certainly be arranged! I'll be sure to prepare lots of food with good taste~! [Though that goes without saying, this being Cilan and all.] Is there anything that you'd like prepared in particular? Like a cake perhaps, to congratulate the victor of the battles for "Rival Day"?

Great! I can't wait t' see all the food you'll cook up, Cilan! It's gonna be big so y' don't havta do all the cooking; maybe there are some others who can help! [ WHO Ash doesn't know 'cause Cilan is best cook he knows here. ] Yeah, I think a cake would be great! And lots of your sandwiches!

[People that are as good as Cilan......uh well, your best bet is probably the people that work over at the bakery or the Seventh Heaven restaurant, since their food is good...]

In that case, perhaps I'll ask around if I need help--oh, and there's Chili, who I'm sure I could ask as well.

[Granted, Cilan probably is the better of the two, but Chili does have experience working in a restaurant just like his brother, so he likely has some level of cooking knowledge to his name as well...though, this is Chili we are talking about, so who knows whether or not this is going to be a success. ^^;;]

[ That is true that their food is good. Maybe not as good as Cilan's in Ash's eyes but really he'll eat anything as long as its edible and isn't super bad. ]

Great! I didn't know that Chili could cook too.

Of course. The three of us had worked together at our restaurant, so it's only natural that he would have some knowledge in cooking as well, right? [...Or maybe Chili's full extent of it is only as far as knowing how to prepare something without burning down the place when using the stove, who knows.] ...Though, personally speaking, I will admit that some of his dishes tend to be on the spicier side in comparison...

Right! [ totally makes sense to Ash and that's all that matters right? ] A bit spicier? Hmm... I'm sure it all still tastes good!

Mm. [He nods. Spicy as it may be, Cilan still likes Chili's food whenever his brother decides to try to cook sometimes. Still--] Don't worry, I'll make sure that the food is in perfect taste for when we celebrate Friendship and Rival Day!
